Missouri River Drug Task Force

Many drug crimes investigations are conducted by officers on the Missouri River Drug Task Force. The narcotic officers on the task force are fond of using confidential informants to set up other individuals. Many of these confidential informants are low-level drug offenders with their own pending charges.

During those undercover operations, the officers will set up sting operations using the confidential informant to induce another person to commit a drug crime. The entrapment defense comes into play in many of these cases. Other defenses in drug crime cases center around an illegal search or seizure that can lead to a dismissal of the charges.
